Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Knok, a live chat widget service operated by FightKit Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). By signing up for or using Knok, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

Knok provides a live chat widget that you can embed on your website to communicate with your visitors in real time. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Knok in accordance with these Terms and the plan you are subscribed to.

3. Your account

You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@knok.chat if you suspect unauthorised access.

You must be at least 18 years old and have the authority to enter into these Terms on behalf of yourself or your organisation.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Knok to:

• Send spam, unsolicited messages, or engage in deceptive practices
• Collect personal data from visitors without appropriate consent and disclosure
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations, including privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
• Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems
• Distribute malware or any harmful code through the widget
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Resell or sublicense access to Knok without our written permission

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

5. Billing and payment

Knok is billed on a per-seat, per-month basis. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

Prices are listed on our pricing page and may change with 30 days’ notice to active subscribers. All prices are in USD and exclude any applicable taxes, which are your responsibility.

If a payment fails, we will attempt to retry and notify you. Access may be suspended after repeated failed payments.

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months.

Billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your card details.

6. Data and privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use data. By using Knok, you agree to that policy.

You are the data controller for the conversations and visitor data collected through your widget. We process that data on your behalf as a data processor. You are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis to collect and process that data, and for informing your website visitors appropriately.

7. Intellectual property

Knok and all related software, design, and content are owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights.

You retain ownership of all content you and your visitors submit through the widget. You grant us a limited licence to store and process that content solely to provide the service.

8. Uptime and availability

We aim to keep Knok available and reliable. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may carry out scheduled or emergency maintenance that temporarily affects availability. We will communicate planned downtime in advance where possible.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Knok is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using Knok and cancel your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach.

Upon termination, your right to use the service ends immediately. We will retain your data for 30 days after termination, after which it will be deleted. You may request an export of your data before deletion by contacting hello@knok.chat.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify active users of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of Knok after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
